Do What Celebrities Do
Lady Gaga warms her voice up 30 minutes every day
Dr. Oz wakes up and does 7 minutes of exercise everyday.
Oprah writes down things she’s grateful for in Gratitude Journal, everyday.
Discipline. It’s the reason why those people are so successful. Consistency, I tell you!
Why is discipline so good? Well, it keeps you focused. Gives you a routine. Practice always makes perfect, right?
Think about it. Warming up your voice for 30 mintues everyday will probably result in only good things: consistently warmed up vocal folds. Why yes, thank you!
Doing 7 minutes of excercise everyday will probably keep your muscles pretty limber and agile.
And writing down things you’re grateful for will keep you grounded and humble. I'll take that.
I spend an obscene amount of time idling – facebook, twitter, gossip sites, etc. I’m going to try something for the next week. Everytime I feel like going to People.com or perezhilton.com, I am going to get up and occupy myself with a disciplined activity.
Read a few pages of a book. Practice piano. Do some sit ups. Write in a journal. Warm up my voice. I can find an endless amount of things to do instead of going on facebook, and yet it continues to draw me in.
That is the ultimate test though. Ridding myself of all distractions. Ooo, Real Housewives is on...
