Workin' It
Phew. Since returning from LA on Tuesday, I have filmed a short screwball comedy, auditioned for 2 commercials and 1 live event, filmed a hosting gig, and filmed one of two shoot days this week for my current feature.
I’ve driven 1000 miles or more just this week. My left elbow is almost raw from being propped on my car door's arm rest for so many cumulative hours.
I am tired. But good tired.
It’s good to be busy. You definitely have to take it when it comes because you never know when the next audition or shoot will come along. However, lots of things start to slip through the cracks when you’re running and gunning for a stretch.
I haven’t had an honest workout in two weeks. I haven’t had a chance to really search for new audition opportunities. I need to go to the grocery store. I’ve been slacking on my blog production (apologies). I have consumed more fast food and soda in the last two weeks than in the previous 6 months.
Not. Good.
This week, things should ease up though. Hopefully, I can finish my taxes, update my resume, email some filmmakers about getting reel clips, troll for jobs, and plan my move (more on that later).
Would anyone like to apply for an immediate opening as a personal assistant?
How do you juggle your responsibilities during the busy times? Do you let things slide like I do or have you figured out how to make it all work?

Sounds like you've got a plate full. Don't forget the breathing moments. I'm a lot like you in the work ethic department. Something my boss has been helping me to learn is that if you don't take the time to rest and rejuvenate yourself, you will burn out and soon find that what was once a passion has now become a chore. Be encouraged in the fact that you put out great work and that work come from a job well done and a lifestyle well rested. And in case you need the extra help, my presume for the personal assistant position can be found in your inbox.

Ritchie - You are completely right that R&R is a necessary part of staying sharp. I'm definitely guilty of working to burnout. I'll keep an eye out for the resume.
