I Just Gotta Feeling, Tonight's the Night!
As I write to you from Interstate 95 on my way to New York, I can’t stop thinking about what I’ll be doing tonight. I am thrilled to announce that tonight…drum roll please… I will be performing in my first Showcase!
I’ve been practicing my songs that will debut tonight at the Duplex, and I can’t wait. It’s weird how quickly this Showcase has crept up on me. Back in February when I learned that I had the gig, it seemed so far off, like it wasn’t even really going to happen. Of course I practiced (maybe not as much as I would’ve liked), but I thought I had all the time in the world. Now, I’m on way back to the city (after leaving a mere two days ago) on the Bolt Bus and am getting so amped for what’s going to be amazing night.
I feel incredibly lucky to have so many friends and family coming tonight. The support that I have surrounding this crazy gypsy life is amazing, and it’s great being able to share my journey with them. Up until the dress rehearsal on Friday, it didn’t seem like this Showcase was real. But after getting up on that little cabaret stage and hearing the other awesome and supportive girls I’ll get to perform with, I was hit with knowing that tonight is definitely real, and is a great step for me in doing what I’m passionate about for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to let you know how it goes!
