Twittified!
One day at fight call for Peter Pan, all these little Lost Boys were talking about a fun movie night they had. I felt left out, so I confronted them.
Me: Hey, how come nobody invited me to movie night???
Lost Boys: Oh, welll.....ummmm....do you have Twitter??
Me: Um, no.
Lost Boy: Well, see we didn't know how to get in touch with you because we invited everyone via Twitter.
Lost Boys: Nope, only Twitter.
Me: Facebook?
Lost Boys: Nope. See we don't know what your doing unless you update everyone. We figured you were busy. You should get Twitter. Then, everyone would know you what you are doing at all times. We would check your tweets and see that you were bored and ask you to join us for movie night. You always seem busy. You should get Twitter!!
Me: Ummmm....I don't know....
Lost Boys: Please Emily, please!! Get Twitter! All the cool kids have Twitter!!
Me: Really??? Well, I do want to be cool....
So now I have Twitter. I'm always such a sucker for peer pressure, but I'm not sure that having Twitter actually makes you cool. I've had it for a couple weeks now and only have 30 followers. I guess that's better than zero, but I saw some of my friends have hundreds or thousands!!
However, regardless of followers, it is fun being a follow-ee! I started following comedians, like Chelsea Handler, and seeing what funny things they have to say. I've also started to follow the New York Times Arts and instantly get a link to whatever new review or article is out there on the arts in NYC!!
