I'm Here!
In LA! I fly in last night, I move into my sublet friday, picked up my car this afternoon and I'm trying to get my next two weeks booked with fun and useful things! I've got a meeting with an acting teacher tomorrow morning and then a meeting with a commercial agency in the afternoon.
I'm hoping that all my friends in NYC who had people I 'really had to meet' will pull through. I think they will. I'm also working on a mental challenge. Not letting my career feel the same as it did in NYC, that is, with no real theatrical rep, and dwindling prospects of them. It's gonna be different here. I just need to keep my head up and ears and eyes open and not think I've seen it before. Because I haven't.
I move into my sublet on friday - so that will give me some breathing room and I'll get to unpack a little.
But I'm a little nervous about these meeting with commercial agents - mostly because in LA you don't really freelance, at all. You sign with people. I have meetings with two agents - one is tomorrow and the other one is sometime next week. I think the agency I'm meeting next week is better, but I'm not sure how I'm going to work that if the first one wants to sign me - Because I can't put all my eggs in one basket. I guess I'll just have to figure it out as I go.
