The Quintessential "Produce It Yourself"

I think I mentioned this friend of mine months ago in an obscure Unscripted post... but wanted to shed light on them again.  So many of us save up a nest egg, write something, and produce it just for the "get it out there / into the world" option.  For goodness sake, Luke Wilson is doing an AT&T commercial... wouldn't HungryMan casting have plopped some character-type into that exact spot two years ago?!

The point is... if you produce something as a vehicle for yourself... do it right.  I think this is a great example of putting the right amount of money in, casting people that are good (not just buddies), and strong cinematography.  Written and produced by Daryn Strauss.
