Kind of a Big Deal...On the Internet!!
I recently took a bit of a vacation from my blog, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve been completely MIA from the virtual world. I know I’m not the only actor who Googles themselves and if you’re an actor with an office temp job and computer in front of you, you probably Google yourself a few times a day too. Well, turns out you can find me all over the internet! For example, there’s a recent YouTube video of the girls in Spring Awakening singing at the Lincoln Center Barnes and Nobles for the Spring Awakening book releas.
Also, Broadway.com seems to constantly be doing little stories or videos about the new cast of Spring Awakening. So even though I haven’t been blogging, if you really search, like my mom and I do, you can probably keep up with my happenings.
Maybe it’s silly, but one of the most exciting things I’ve discovered on the internet is that someone commented on the message board on my Imdb.com page! Every actor knows about Imdb.com. It’s the easiest place to start when meeting another cute actor you want to date and find out more about. (I'm not a stalker! I’ve really only done that once….maybe twice.) Or it's a good place to look up a director or writer you are going to be working with and get an idea of some of the projects in which they’ve been involved.
Anyways, I always thought it was mostly famous people who got comments on the message board section of their Imdb.com page. I guess the comment was posted in July, but it’s only been a recent discovery of mine. The comment was from someone named xpainted_heartsx, and she wrote, "She'll be the new Anna in Spring Awakening on Broadway, replacing Phoebe Strole. I'm super excited about it, but Phoebe will be sorely missed. "
I admit I was a tid tad disappointed that the comment was so factual and non-judgemental. I had always imagined that my first Imdb.com message board comment would be a bit more extreme, something like ,“OMG! She’s the HOTTEST girl I’ve ever seen!"….or I could even deal with gossipy, “My friend said she dated that guy from the t-mobile commercials,” or even mean-spirited “I heard she demanded sour patch kids like every ten minutes on the Law and Order set…and what’s with her snaggle tooth?!?” Of course, what can I expect when I don’t even have a picture up and only have like four credits listed? Then again, one comment, one fan interested in my work enough to post on a message board is a start. As my list of credits grows (fingers crossed), perhaps so will my message board.
I think I’m probably getting ahead of myself here. Although I can’t help but daydream of the work I will do in the future, I am thankful to be a working actor right now and I am very happy with my one IMDB comment. So thank you xpainted_heartsx, wherever you are in the virtual world. It made me feel special that someone was interested in my work enough to make a comment. (I also read and definitely appreciate all the wonderful comments I get on my blog!!) And it made me feel like kind of a big deal on the internet…..but not in a porn star kind of way.

ou are so lucky, and so talented. I'm also an actor and being on Broadway is everything I want, this business is so tough, and you are already somewhere. Trust me you prob have way more fans than you know about.

I love the IT technology, my dad got me my first pc for my birthday and ever since I became a big IT freak. I started internet marketing for the last four months and still looking for material that can help my marketing.
