Talk To My Lawyer
This week my lawyer and I got together for a drink, just to talk about life... Actually at the meeting I asked him if I could refer to him as my lawyer, and list him on my contact sites. He responded positively with "I am your lawyer..."
It was just the meeting I needed when I needed it... Actually, it could have come last week, as he sort of gave me his opinion on my agent marketing strategy. And after listening to him, I realized I may have made a few mistakes, but, nothing too damaging. So with his help, I'm going to re-think my hunt for new representation. Also, it's really great to have someone on your team who thinks that not only aren't you missing anything, but you should be playing with the big boys, and it's just a factor that they don't know it yet.
So, today I'm be starting on the path of this new approach.
However, before I could follow the new Yellow Brick Road, there were some other things that I had to do... First I had to go to Yoga. I say "had" because, I haven't gone in such a long time, I had to make myself go. This after my Yoga teacher emailed me last night asking... "Yo, where's the Quiche at?"
Not only had I made a commitment to two people (who I don't speak to much these days), and my Yoga teacher (who I haven't seen in months) two years ago... But more important, I made a commitment to myself... And I had to do that "self-honoring" thing my teacher often talks about.
It wasn't easy to get there... I actually needed a boost from Stephen and Jordana at the coffee shop I often blog at... "Go, then come back..." Which, I did. And it wasn't easy to do it... But I did.
If the miles weren't so rough on this body of mine, I'd practically live in a gym. I'd do spinning, Pilate's, yoga, swim, step, rope work, weights, and I'd do hikes in the parks... But my body often aches... Joints aren't always my friends... Knees sometimes keep me up at night. Shoulders sometime scream when resting. And mornings often hit this body hard. But here I am, blogging at the cafe after getting my Namaste on... Fulfilling yet another commitment for today. Blogging.
Thought my stabilizing muscles shook with exhaustion in the studio, and my quads and hammies burned, never really recovering from a 75 minute spin class yesterday... I have a new energy, I have a list of things to work on today... Some of which are "starts." Some are "continues". And some are "just do its."
I want to continue to change websites to update information. I want to continue to edit a script I started re-editing yesterday. I want to go to the bank. I want to record a song today. I want to try editing a song to see if a concept will work. I want to start on my new representative approach. I want to bring in my laundry from the line. I want to straighten my apartment. I'm a little excited to see how much of this I get done by the time I lay my head down on a pillow tonight.
It's good to be motivated...

I'd be curious to hear about your new approach...if you're willing to share. The rest was just a tease. ;)
