Step Outside Your Little World
Right now (8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time) the jewel of the sunset sky is hovering in the western sky: Venus.
Did you know you can also see Saturn with the naked eye as well? I've posted the sky chart below to help you. First notice that Venus is the brightest thing in the western sky. Then imagine a rainbow line going from Venus up to the left. First the line will pass two stars in horizontal formation. From there, the next stop is Saturn, a beautiful, small yellow orb, a mere 800 or so million miles away. (Something like that.)
You're gonna have to click on the pic to see it. This is the view facing west.

Maybe I'll get one of the print jobs I've photographed for. Maybe I'll get one of the commercials I've auditioned for. Until then, you're stuck with my science lessons. Let's hope I book something by next week or it's The Theory of Relativity for you.
Well, go out of your technological pod right now. Turn off American Idol. Put down the John Grisham novel. Get off the internet. Turn off Myspace. Turn off Youtube. Turn off your Ipod. Stop talking about Spiderman III. Put down the damned Sushi already. Enjoy Saturn!

Yes I hope you get work also so we do not have to have another science lesson.

That is a funny comment.
But it genuinely saddens me also for two reasons:
1.) Readers only seem to be motivated to post negative remarks.
2.) To not be interested in the night sky, to view it as a "science lesson," well, I don't know what to call that. Ungrateful?
I would suggest a good pair of binoculars, away from light pollution and look at the sky. You should appreciate its beauty.
But you're under no obligation.
